Delhi is the capital of India where you enjoy a lot because of historical places, monuments, gardens, and Delhi museums. In this way today we are exploring Delhi Museums. Very First time I visited national museum when I studied in higher secondary. It was an awesome experience that I enjoyed. It is one of the largest museums in India.

1. National Museum (Most Popular of all Delhi Museums)
The National Museum is also known as “National Museum of India”. It was established in 1949. It was inaugurated by Governor-General of India “Chakravarti Rajagopalachari”. The root of establishment of National Museum is Royal Academy in London.
National Museum has manuscripts, jewelry, and decorative arts, etc. There is huge collection of Ancient art, coins related Indus Valley civilization. Different era’s collections are available to see which reflects different tradition of different era.
National Museum is one of the most visited Delhi Museums. You should find the Best Places to visit in Delhi as well.
In the end, I recommend you all if you are interested to gain knowledge about historical period and their tradition then you must visit National Museum otherwise you should not visit.

2. National Gallery of Modern Art
The National Gallery of Modern Art is famous for its Modern art gallery, History Gallery and tourism. It was established in 1954 under the minister of culture at Jaipur House, Delhi. It is same place where Maharaja of Jaipur lived.
It is most famous place for art lovers. Here you can find thousands of painting older than 150 Years which is ratified by most famous painter Thomas Daniell and William.

Entry Cost :- 1 Rupee for Children, 10 Rupees for Indians Adult and 150 Rupees for Foreigners.

3. Crafts Museum or National Handicrafts and Handlooms Museum
The National Crafts Museum is also known as the National Handicrafts and Handlooms Museum. It was set up in the year between 1950 to 1960. It the right place for handicraft and art lovers. In this museum you can find painted walls, jewelry and textiles, etc.
Outside the museum you can see the rural area and villager’s tradition. It adds bonus point to The National Handicrafts and Handlooms Museum.

4. National Gandhi Museum
The National Gandhi Museum or Gandhi Memorial Museum was opened in Mumbai first and after assassinating of Mahatma Gandhi It has moved to Rajghat, Delhi.
You know very well Mahatma Gandhi who is India’s Father of nation. Gandhi always followed non-violence.
If you don’t see the Mahatma Gandhi then I suggest to take a Indian paper currency and see Mahatma Gandhi.
It is wholly associated with Gandhi and Gandhi’s tradition and customs. Gandhi Museum houses spectacle, Dhoti with stained blood, and many more related to Mahatma Gandhi.

5. National Rail Museum
National Rail Museum is rail heritage museum. It was established on 1st Feb 1977 by Kamalapati Tripathi. Very first name of National Rail Museum was “National Rail Transport Museum”. Name has been changed in 1955. It was situated in chanakyapuri, Delhi.
The first rail was steam engine rail which was run mumbai to thane in 1853. A model of first rail steam engine is worth seeing. Rail ride is also available.
You can find all rail history from its beginning of rail to present day. It is great place to visit. You must this place.

Entry Cost – 50 Rupees for Indian, 10 Rupees for children (3-12). Extra cost will be charged if you visit on Monday and Holidays.

6. National Science Centre Museum
The National Science Center is a Science Museum. It is right place for technical enthusiasts. It was established 1992 by former prime minister Narasimha Rao. First Science museum was inaugurated in 1959, Calcutta.
Exhibition keeps holding in Science museum. That’s why Most of visitors are students. Exhibition, shows and activities are most attractive .

7. Air Force Museum
The Indian Air Force Museum is attracting place for aviation and tourist enthusiasts. It is situated at Palam, Indian Air force Station. It has huge collection of aero planes, uniform and personal weapons. You can see also Kargil World War aviation collection here in museum.
